1940's Weekend - The East Lancashire Railway
Bury, Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall, Heywood

Every year the ELR (East Lancs Railway) has a 1940's weekend (they don't call it a War weekend anymore). It is full of vintage vehicles, people in 40's clothing, concerts, re-enactments, stalls etc. The event is spread across all the towns and villages on the ELR, but the town of Ramsbottom seems to get into the spirit of it more than most - with all the shops putting on special window decorations and displays.
